Veteran’s Day 2024 was a very educational experience for Elmhurst’s York High School students as they joined military veterans from The Roosevelt at Salt Creek for a special luncheon.
These high school history students born well after the War on Terror had the opportunity to learn from the wartime experiences of Roosevelt residents who proudly served in the U.S. Military in Vietnam and other conflicts.
For the students, it was a chance to go beyond their textbooks and learn about warfare from the people who lived it. And for the seniors, it was a chance to pass their military experiences on to a new generation.
